The City Council of l’Escala (Alt Empordà, Girona) has announced the “2nd Autumn International Research Bursary” in the fields of social and natural sciences. The scholarship will be awarded to the best project presented whose theme is related to the landscape, history and anthropology of l’Escala and its immediate territory, in which the archaeological site of the Greco-Roman city of Emporion/Emporiae is located.
The winner of last year’s scholarship edition was the historian Aïda Sánchez Martínez with the project The roots of the fishing community of l’Escala. The scholarship, endowed with 2,500 euros, allows a three-month stay (between September and December 2024) at the Casa dels Forestals residence in Sant Martí d’Empúries, where the Iberia Graeca headquarters are also located. The applications submission deadline is June 27.
