Since 2015
The Departament de Prehistòria i Arqueologia of the Universitat de València created in 1988 and heir to the Laboratori d’Arqueologia, founded in 1920, is currently one of the leading centres of university education and research in Spain on Iberian culture and Mediterranean environment. Trading contacts between Greeks and Iberians are verified by the abundance of Greek materials in the most significant Iberian sites of Valencia: Tossal de Sant Miquel (Lliría), Puntal dels Llops (Olocau), Castellet de Bernabé (Lliria), la Bastida de Les Alcusses (Moixent), Castellar de Meca (Ayora) o Kelin/Los Villares (Caudete de las Fuentes). Therefore, the Departament de Prehistòria i Arqueologia is going to document these materials which will be introduced in the Database of Iberia Graeca, through the collaboration of the Museu de Prehistòria de València where they are deposited. The Departament de Prehistòria i Arqueologia of the Universitat de València and the Iberia Graeca Centre are going to jointly collaborate on research projects about Greek presence in Iberia.
