Since 2016

The Departamento de Ciências e Técnicas do Património of the Universidade do Porto (Portugal) collaborates with the Iberia Graeca Centre in order to incorporate into the Database Centre’s Greek materials appeared in the archaeological sites of the Iron Age of Portugal. The Departamento de Ciências e Técnicas do Património works on various areas of Heritage Sciences, in the aspect of the training as well as the level of scientific research: Archaeology, History of Art and Museology. The Department’s missions is to create and transfer knowledge of its areas of action, enshrined in a sedimented teaching experience and embodied in a significant set of consulting and research collaborations through agreements with institutions outside the Academy. The Department is promoting various documentation and research projects on Greek trade and presence in the Iberia’s territories, currently Portugal, and the classification and publication of existing Greek materials in different Portuguese collections and museums. The work will integrate the Greeks objects of the archaeological sites of Portugal already published, such as Santa Olaia, Alcacer do Sal, Castro de Palheiros, Romaríz, Conímbriga or Castelo de Castro Marim, in Iberia Graeca’s Database as well as unpublished materials that appear as research progresses. It is also the Department will to work closely on research projects and dissemination of mainland Greek archaeological heritage of Iberia Graeca Centre.
