Institut Català d’Arqueologia Clàssica (ICAC)

Since 2011

The Institut Català d’Arqueologia Clàssica – Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology (ICAC), based in Tarragona, has been collaborating with the Iberia Graeca Centre since the 1st of October 2011, putting together the document database of the Iberia Graeca website. The ICAC is a public centre that researches Classical Archaeology, which was created by the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Rovira i Virgili University, with the participation of the Catalan Inter-University Council. Its purpose is to research, offer superior education and disseminate the classical civilisation and culture. As part of the programme contract signed with the Rovira i Virgili University, the ICAC has contracted a trainee researcher who will compile and introduce the Greek material published about Iberian sites in the Tarragona area (La Moleta del Remei d’Alcanar, El Castellet de Banyoles de Tivissa, Alorda Park de Calafell, Tarragona, etc.) into the Iberia Graeca document database. One of the ICAC’s specific lines of training and of research is Greek archaeology, which means it will be collaborating in future research projects developed by the Iberia Graeca Centre.
