One of the lines of research at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid is related to the iconographic representations of Greek ceramics from the centuries VI to IV B.C. The research project HAR2009-07448, entitled “Imágenes de Atenas en el mundo ibérico. Estudio de la iconografía y de la recepción de los materiales griegos del siglo IV a. C. en la Península Ibérica” (Images of Athens in the iberic world. Survey of iconography and reception of Greek materials in the Iberian Peninsula in IV century B.C.) is being currently executed. The project is directed by Carmen Sánchez Fernández, from the Departamento de Historia y Teoría del Arte; the following researchers also take part in the project: Paloma Cabrera Bonet (MAN), Maite Miró (Generalitat de Catalunya) and Margarita Moreno (MAN). The main objetive of the project is to document and research on Greek ceramics from IVth century B.C. found in Spain. The database project will be part of the documental base of Iberia Graeca within collaborative programs between Iberia Graeca Center and the Departamento de Historia y Teoría del Arte of the UAM for the study of Greek material culture in the Iberian peninsula.
