Dead Professor Glòria Trias Rubiés

Last March 6, Professor Glòria Trias Rubiés died in Palma de Mallorca, one month short of her 99th birthday (Barcelona, April 22, 1925). On the occasion of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the publication of his work Cerámicas griegas de la Península Ibérica (Valencia, vol. I: 1967, vol. II: 1968) in 2017 we published, from the Iberia Graeca Centre, a book of tribute to Dr. Trias. In the article by M. Orfila “Glòria Trias Rubiès. Más que una biografía académica” (pp. 19-30) his scientific and human career is explained, and in article by R. Olmos y P. Cabrera “Cerámicas griegas de la Península Ibérica, un hito en la historia de la arqueología española” (pp. 31-43) the meaning of its publication is analysed. We refer to these works to understand and know the personality of Professor Trias, whose studies on peninsular Greek pottery have been, and continue to be, a reference for all of us.

Our most sincere condolences to all his family, friends and colleagues who have accompanied him throughout his life.
